Lauren, I love how you are exploring the topic of mid-life and letting the reader follow your thoughts and emotions. It's very relatable and helpful. I really enjoy your writing style.
I really enjoyed and totally got what you are saying, you put into words what many of us experience- it reassuring to read. Sometimes we hate samey samey other times will long for it.
In my experience husbands, on reading this would 1) worry if you’re unwell
What a great piece. I’ve felt like this a lot (although it seems to have stopped a bit recently) I wondered if it was because we spend so long doing what we are taught we should - education, family, work etc that maybe we get to a place where we don’t have to be so rushed we have some more time to think about it.
I felt this letter was one big, long ramble. But it helped me to process what I've been thinking and super love you liked it. I defo agree that a slower pace is probably the whole reason this was all triggered. When things are fast, you don't have time to think, which in some ways, can be really nice. But equally, don't want to get to end of my days full of wish I would haves. Thank you so much for commenting Annabel. xxx
Feel this totally! I often wonder if I have perpetual dissatisfaction, which is a bit of a horrifying thought! And then am envious of those who are more easily contented. But I reckon it’s just the way you are wired and if you are that sort of person, you always will be and it’s something to harness and be proud of.
Perpetual Dissatsifation is such a good way to put words to how I often feel about myself and so wish I wasn't that way. Thank you for replying. Love hearing from people!

In my experience husbands, on reading this would 1) worry if you’re unwell
2) worry if they are to blame
3) buy flowers which should help any situation.
Bless them. X
Thank you!
